# Notifications and email consent

> Control in-app and email delivery independently.

Monitor matches can appear in the dashboard inbox, by email, or through both channels.

## In-app alerts

In-app alerts are enabled by default. A new monitor match creates an unread notification containing the monitor, provider, video ID, target, title, and creation time.

## Email alerts

Email delivery is off until the signed-in account explicitly confirms it.

  <Step title="Enable email alerts">Turn on **Email alerts** in Settings. video2ctx sends a confirmation message to the email address on the account.</Step>
  <Step title="Confirm from the message">Choose **Confirm email alerts**. The signed link returns to the dashboard and is consumed after the account loads.</Step>
  <Step title="See the result">Settings shows a persistent success or error message and removes the confirmation token from the URL.</Step>

Confirmation links expire after 24 hours and only work for the account that requested them. Turning email alerts off clears both active and pending consent. Unsubscribe links require a deliberate confirmation page before preferences change.
